Itinerary

Day 1Chaupi Estancia Winery and Middle of the World

Your first day in Quito you will visit Chaupi Estancia Winery, This winery is a premier producer of fine wines on the equator at 2400 m above sea level in the rolling hills of the Andean mountains.
They use the latest technology in handcrafting their premium wines, the best Italian machinery and the finest French yeast. Their winemaker, Hector Olivares Madrid is from Chile and has a degree in Viticulture and Enology.
The Vineyards are located about 10 km south of the Equator, approximately 2400 m above sea level between the Andean mountains. Enjoy the morning at the winery and get a first-hand look at the meticulous winemaking process in a full tour where we also focus on the vineyards, their surroundings and the history of the wine producers that has dedicated over 15 years to grape growing.
At the end of the tour you will be able to taste different varieties of wines chosen by the sommelier, this wine tasting includes some cheese plates to make it a unique experience. After this amazing experience you will go to the Middle of the World. There, you will find a monument, where you can put one foot in the North Hemisphere and the other foot on the South Hemisphere. Just outside the Middle of the World, there is an interesting open-air museum called Inti-Ñan. It explains the solar system; the effect of the equator position has on gravity and ancient cultures and their peculiarities. This is worth a visit! Overnight in a charmy hotel in the oldtown.

Day 2Oldtown, Gstronomy and Painting

Today, you will have a visit to downtown Quito, one of the most beautiful and historical cities in South America, which was declared by UNESCO a “World Cultural Heritage”. First, the “Balcon Quiteño”, the Legislative Palace, the colonial center, the Independence Plaza, the Caron¬delet Palace (Government Palace) the Metropolitan Cathedral, “La Compañía” and “San Francisco” churches and a drive to “El Panecillo”. Here, you will have the best views of Quito and the surrounding snowcapped volcanoes! For lunch you will prepare your own typical menu (Locro de Papa, Fish with coconut and a chocolate soup) after this experience you will go up to the mountain with the TELEFERICO For spectacular views over Quito’s mountainous landscape, hop aboard this sky tram, one of the world’s highest aerial lifts, that takes passengers on a 2.5km ride (10 minutes) up the flanks of Volcán Pichincha to the top of Cruz Loma. And to finish this amazing tour at night you will Enjoy our Painting Nights! Share great moments in an Atelier while you explore your artistic side.
More than a workshop, Nights of Painting is a special occasion to give free rein to your creativity. With a famous Quito Painter guidance, you will learn to make beautiful paintings form Quito.
No previous experience is required, Painting Nights is for everyone. The only thing you need is to come willing to have a good time.
