Kapawi is a place full of legends and magic. It is located on the Pastaza River basin, in the middle of the jungle, far away from civilization. You can get there only by small planes. The Ashuar Indian community are settled on this region.

Being far away from civilization does not mean you have to resign to comfort. Kapawi has more than 20 bungalows each with a bathroom and terrace. Energy is provided by solar systems. The restaurant offers good national and international food, exotic fruits, soft beverages, snacks, etc.

You may perform light trips of around 3 hours in the surroundings, canoe trips to the Ashuar Indian homes, watch birds, and many other activities.

You may also request stronger activities of up to 5 hours by crossing rivers, spending the night in the jungle in tents or in native bungalows, which is excellent for people avid for this type of adventures.

At the moment this lodge is operating with one the routes by Land from Quito to Shell and then a small aircraft to the Kapawi lodge.   Return will be by small aircraft.
